Q. Will my cellphone work in my house with a metal roof?
A. Yes

Q. How long will my roof last?

A. There should not be a need to replace your metal roof, but some maintenance may be needed with the Classic rib, but well past the time you would be replacing a shingle roof.

Q. Why should I get metal vs shingle roofing?

A. Metal roofs long outlast any shingle roof and are an affordable option. We have cut out the middleman and fabricate 2 types of metal roofing to meet your price point and to achieve the look you want.

Q. What about my satellite dish?

A. If you are having a metal roof installed you will need to contact your provider to have it placed on a post or off of the side of your home.

If it is an unused satellite we can remove it but please communicate that to us.

Q. Will I need bigger gutters?

A. If you are in need of new gutters a 6” gutter is recommended with metal roofs. It may or may not be an issue with your roof, pitch and other factors determine that.

We do not install gutters but can refer reputable companies.

Q. What is the time frame?

A. Time Frame given is always an estimate.

Time Frame is based on the day you confirm agreement.

Once we are on the job we stay until it is completed.

Weather plays a big part in our schedule and can affect the time frame. Most often we are scheduling 2 to 3 months out.

Q. What do I need to know for preparation?

A. Please cut your grass closest to the house prior to our start date as it does insure a better cleanup. We cleanup the job site, landscaping, and gutters as well as possible. You may notice granules washed out from your downspouts after a tear off is done after it rains.

Any satellites on your roof that are being used must be removed and re-installed on a pole or side of the house, by your provider or other contractor prior to project start.

If your project is a tear off, we will bring a dump trailer in and place it closest to the house on the driveway. It is advised that vehicles be removed from the garage ahead of time. You may want to secure loose items on walls, remove breakables landscaping ornaments, and cover items stored in attics. There will be a lot of banging and shaking and this tends to shake down loose dust and debris in attics. We take care to protect the outside of your home and landscaping during the process.

It is important that your house is properly ventilated and insulated. If it is not, even with a new roof, it can lead to ice dams (An ice dam is a ridge of ice that forms at the edge of a roof and prevents melting snow (water) from draining off the roof.), leaking and deteriorating roof materials. Chimneys, siding and windows are other areas that homeowners see leaking. If you feel there are potential problem areas please let the estimator know, so that they might be able to evaluate those areas and/or recommend other contract work if necessary. Soffit vents should be clear and unplugged of insulation.

Q. Do you install during the winter?

A. Yes, we install year round.

Q. What are your payment options?

A. Check – After completion of job your will not receive an invoice unless we have an e-mail, your contract acts as the invoice, you can mail or bring in a check for payment. At that time a receipt will be given with your warranty information. The products should qualify for a decrease in your insurance premium and likely an energy tax credit on primary residence. This packet will include a survey and paid return envelope, we greatly appreciate all feedback provided.

Bank Account/Credit Card -We can also send an invoice through email, which has a link that allows you to pay directly from your bank to ours or with a credit card. Keep in mind that if you are paying with a credit card there will be a 3% processing fee. The paid receipt will have warranty information and tax credit eligibility on it.

Submit a copy of the paid receipt to your insurance company to receive any discounts available for your type of new roof.

As described on the contract payments are due within 7 business days or a $25 fee a day will be assessed unless arrangements are made ahead of time.

Q. Does my existing roof need to be tore off?

A. Most likely not, with the Classic Rib we have found through 20 years of metal roof install that in order to get the best “bite” with the screws putting purlins, 1x4 or 2x4 over existing, creating a sub roof is the best option. Also it allows for better vapor barrier, air flow between the existing and metal roof to minimize condensation and a damaged roof does not further deteriorate. It is efficient, cost effective, and to MI building code. We use this method on our new construction as well, installing underlayment to code then 1x4’s every 2’ form the eave to the ridge.

Standing seam in most circumstances will be best suited for a tear off and then high temp ice and water installed over the entire roof, this is due to its non ribbed panel and other factors.

Q. Are you insured?

A. We are licensed and insured

Q. Why choose you?

A. "A+" rating by Better Business Bureau

We are licensed and insured

We have 20 years of experience and references

Specialize in Metal Roofing

Q. Will my quote include sno-rail?

A. You may need an ice rail over high traffic areas where snow and ice can slide off of your roof. It is not necessary on all roofs and is addressed case by case. Your pitch and there factors will determine this and we suggest waiting the first winter to see where it is needed unless it is obvious and will be recommended by the estimator.

These are meant to slow or break up sliding, it does not prevent it completely as the load is not good to sit on roof either.

Q. Do you sell just the metal?

A. We are happy to sell direct to DIYers and other contractors.

We offer competitive prices, quality products, delivery options, the fastest turn around time in the area, great customer service and all of the accessories needed for metal roofing projects.

Q. What about my skylights?

A. Skylights that are needing to be replaced are quoted to be Velux skylights. These are the only skylights we will install and warranty,

Q. Do the exposed screws leak over time?

A. We use high quality products to ensure a long lasting roof and be confident in our service warranty. People get nervous about the exposed fasteners which have a neoprene washer. These screws have a 20 year warranty on the product and we have not seen any issues in 20 years. We inspect and repair 30 to 40 year old roofs with far less quality screws that are still holding strong.

If the screws needed attention many years down the one it would be well after you would be replacing a shingle roof and at a minimal cost comparatively.

Q. Will bugs nest in the ends of the Classic Rib roof?

A. You may seen bugs fly around your roof, but it is too hot for nesting. We have not had any issues in the 20 years we have been installing metal roofs with this.  Some may suggest a foam accessory at the bottom of the panels to prevent this. We consider this an unnecessary up charge and have found this products adhesive fails after a few years and the products fall out of the bottom.
